This beautiful double page uses vellum and stitching to create a stunning and imaginative effect. Follow these simple steps to create your own awe-inspiring vellum masterpiece!

You will need:

• Selection of flower stamps
• Leaf stamp
• Butterfly stamp
• Swirl stamp
• 2 sheets cardstock
• 9 sheets coloured vellum
• 1 sheet white vellum
• White inkpad
• Alphabet rub-ons
• Star rub-ons
• Diamantés
• Sewing machine
• Thread
• White pen
• Buttons
• Mini adhesive alphabet
• Scissors
• Adhesive

Instructions

1. Stamp the flower stamps, butterfly stamp and leaf stamp onto the matt side of nine brightly coloured sheets of vellum using white ink. Stamp the swirl image onto white vellum. Cut out all the stamped images, except the swirl, from the vellum.

2. Trace the cloud template around the two swirls then cut them from the white vellum.

3. Apply the rub-on alphabet letters to white vellum then cut out the individual letters.

4. Adhere the photos to the page and stitch a border around them using a sewing machine.

5. Experiment with the positioning of the vellum shapes and letters until you are satisfied with the design. Secure the vellum shapes to the cardstock with machine stitching using the designs pictured, or doodled patterns that you have created yourself.

6. Create a title using the individual cut-out letters then machine stitch the title over the photos. Highlight the edges of the letters with a white pen.

7. Adhere the buttons, diamantés and rub-on stars to complete the design, and add the journaling using a white pen and mini alphabet stickers.

Tip:

It is a good idea to experiment with your machine stitched designs on a cardstock scrap before you start, as it will allow you to adjust the thread tension, and become confident in sewing the curved lines. You may like to sketch the lines with a pencil first then erase them later.
